Where is Darauli?

Darauli is a village of Patiala tehsil in Patiala district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Patiala, about 20 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sanaur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 036637, and it covers 246 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 989 people in Darauli: 510 men and 479 women, living in 165 households, an average of about 6.0 people per household. Spread over its 246 hectares, the population density works out to about 402 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 939 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 114, about 12 per cent of the village.
