Where is Kakra?

Kakra is a village of Samana tehsil in Patiala district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Samana, about 6 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Samana community development block and is served by the Kakran gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 036196, and it covers 176 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 682 people in Kakra: 356 men and 326 women, living in 129 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 176 hectares, the population density works out to about 388 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 916 women for every 1,000 men.
