Where is Siri Nagar?

Siri Nagar is a village of Nabha tehsil in Patiala district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Bhadson, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Nabha community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 036429, and it covers 246 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 810 people in Siri Nagar: 434 men and 376 women, living in 142 households, an average of about 5.7 people per household. Spread over its 246 hectares, the population density works out to about 329 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 866 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 109, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 441 people, about 54 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 71.61 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 77.37 per cent and women at 64.8 per cent. The census recorded 293 workers, about 36 per cent of the village.
