Where is Sukhsal?

Sukhsal is a village of Nangal tehsil in Rupnagar district, Punjab, in the Puadh region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Nangal, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Anandpur Sahib community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038543, and it covers 368 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,848 people in Sukhsal: 938 men and 910 women, living in 374 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 368 hectares, the population density works out to about 502 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 970 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 209, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 5 people, about 0 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
