Where is Baupur?

Baupur is a village of Moonak tehsil in Sangrur district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Khanauri, about 6 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Andana community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039953, and it covers 706 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,710 people in Baupur: 895 men and 815 women, living in 286 households, an average of about 6.0 people per household. Spread over its 706 hectares, the population density works out to about 242 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 911 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 201, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 487 people, about 28 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
