Where is Manwala?

Manwala is a village of Dhuri tehsil in Sangrur district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dhuri, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dhuri community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039625, and it covers 350 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 807 people in Manwala: 409 men and 398 women, living in 179 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 350 hectares, the population density works out to about 231 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 973 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 75, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 432 people, about 54 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
