Where is Alapur?

Alapur is a village of Kharar tehsil in SAS Nagar district, Punjab, in the Puadh region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Kharar, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Kharar community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039077, and it covers 172 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,048 people in Alapur: 566 men and 482 women, living in 197 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 172 hectares, the population density works out to about 609 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 852 women for every 1,000 men.
