Where is Mamoli?

Mamoli is a village in SAS Nagar tehsil of SAS Nagar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Puadh region, and the 2011 directory recorded Dera Bassi, about 17 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Rajpura community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039240, and it covers 162 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 253 people in Mamoli: 135 men and 118 women, living in 55 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 162 hectares, the population density works out to about 156 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 874 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 16, about 6 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 65 people, about 26 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

SAS Nagar, the tehsil headquarters, and Mohali, the district headquarters, are the practical hubs for administration and onward travel. Neighbouring villages include Mathiaran, Manoli Surat, Khaspur and Paragpur.
