Where is Bahadurpur?

Bahadurpur is a village in Nawanshahr tehsil of SBS Nagar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Rahon, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Aur community development block and is served by the Bahadur Pur gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032260, and it covers 254 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 967 people in Bahadurpur: 512 men and 455 women, living in 195 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 254 hectares, the population density works out to about 381 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 889 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 108, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 785 people, about 81 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
