Where is Mahliana?

Mahliana is a village of Banga tehsil in SBS Nagar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Phagwara, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Banga community development block and is served by the Mahaliana gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032149, and it covers 435 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,299 people in Mahliana: 672 men and 627 women, living in 268 households, an average of about 4.8 people per household. Spread over its 435 hectares, the population density works out to about 299 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 933 women for every 1,000 men.
