Where is Ghasitpura?

Ghasitpura is a village of Khadur Sahib tehsil in Tarn Taran district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Patti, about 11 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Khadur Sahib community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038301, and it covers 187 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,098 people in Ghasitpura: 584 men and 514 women, living in 221 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 187 hectares, the population density works out to about 587 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 880 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 125, about 11 per cent of the village.
