Where is Kariala?

Kariala is a village of Patti tehsil in Tarn Taran district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Patti, about 3 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Patti community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038220, and it covers 199 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 914 people in Kariala: 470 men and 444 women, living in 168 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household. Spread over its 199 hectares, the population density works out to about 459 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 945 women for every 1,000 men.
