Where is Rakh Dinewal?

Rakh Dinewal is a village of Khadur Sahib tehsil in Tarn Taran district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Patti, about 14 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Khadur Sahib community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038299, and it covers 420 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,469 people in Rakh Dinewal: 790 men and 679 women, living in 263 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household. Spread over its 420 hectares, the population density works out to about 350 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 859 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 178, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 502 people, about 34 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
