Verowal is a village of Khadur Sahib tehsil in Tarn Taran district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Patti, about 8 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Khadur Sahib community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038285, and it covers 1,304 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,564 people in Verowal: 1,322 men and 1,242 women, living in 517 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 1,304 hectares, the population density works out to about 197 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 939 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 350, about 14 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,356 people, about 53 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 67.52 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 74.8 per cent and women at 59.98 per cent. Neighbouring villages include Aiampur, Biharipur and Kiri Shahi.
