The Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and BKU Ekta Ugrahan have announced five days of protests from September 16 outside the residences of the Vidhan Sabha Speaker and seven AAP ministers.

The targets include Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan's home in Faridkot and ministers' residences in Jandiala, Sunam, Bhoa, Hoshiarpur, Muktsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana. KMM convener Sarwan Singh Pandher said the next, more intense phase would be decided on September 16 if there is no response.

Farmers say power for agriculture fell to 2.5 to 4 hours a day during peak operations this season, forcing many to run diesel pumps. They also flagged patchy fertiliser supply during the paddy harvest, even though the Centre says Punjab received 11.45 lakh MT of urea against a requirement of 9.87 lakh MT.
