In a statement on Saturday, October 17, Apollo Hospitals said Mr Advani was admitted with a chest infection and is in the ICU under the care of Dr Vinit Suri, Senior Consultant, remaining under close medical observation, as reported by The Hindu and India TV.

Media reports, including India Today and NDTV, said he was brought to the hospital at around 7.30 pm on Friday and admitted to the pulmonary department, where tests and treatment began.
Who has visited him?
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda met Mr Advani at the hospital on Saturday morning and said his condition was stable, according to The Hindu and IANS.
Has he been hospitalised before?
Yes. NDTV and India Today note he was admitted to the same hospital in May this year for age-related ailments and discharged after a few days, and was hospitalised in December 2024 as well.
