A special CBI court in Chandigarh has dismissed an application by Rajbir Singh Ghuman, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, seeking contempt proceedings against the CBI team over the alleged leak of the FIR registered against him. Special Judge Bhavna Jain ruled on Monday, October 12, that uploading the FIR did not amount to wilful disobedience of the court's directions, according to The Tribune, Babushahi and ANI.

The CBI's public prosecutor said the investigating officer submitted the FIR to the court on October 6, 2026. The court held that the objective of withholding the FIR for operational reasons was achieved once the searches were over, and that it was then uploaded promptly in line with the Supreme Court's directions.
