The Enforcement Directorate has registered a case against Rajbir Singh Ghuman, Officer on Special Duty to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, at its Jalandhar zonal office on October 13, 2026, a day after the Supreme Court barred coercive action in the CBI case against him, The New Indian Express reported.

The Aam Aadmi Party said in an official statement that the agency's haste was surprising.

According to The New Indian Express, the ED registered the case in Jalandhar over allegations of corruption and influence-peddling involving persons linked to the Chief Minister's Office. It followed communications the agency sent to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav flagging alleged irregularities in transfers and postings, tenders, administrative approvals and access to confidential government documents. The allegations involve money or other benefits being exchanged for government favours, the paper reported.

PTC News said the ED wrote three letters to the DGP in July and August 2026 seeking an FIR. The agency's own text of the case has not been made public, and these are allegations, not findings.
