Where is Najo Chak?

Najo Chak is a village of Pathankot tehsil in Pathankot district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Pathankot, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Pathankot community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027533, and it covers 205 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,699 people in Najo Chak: 897 men and 802 women, living in 255 households, an average of about 6.7 people per household. Spread over its 205 hectares, the population density works out to about 829 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 894 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 139, about 8 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 542 people, about 32 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
