Where is Katla?

Katla is a village in Ajnala tehsil of Amritsar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Ramdas, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Ajnala community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037110, and it covers 216 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 923 people in Katla: 469 men and 454 women, living in 143 households, an average of about 6.5 people per household. Spread over its 216 hectares, the population density works out to about 427 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 968 women for every 1,000 men.
