Kotla Khurd is a village of Majitha tehsil in Amritsar district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Majitha, about 6 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Majitha community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037491, and it covers 148 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 897 people in Kotla Khurd: 440 men and 457 women, living in 174 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household. Spread over its 148 hectares, the population density works out to about 606 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1039 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 131, about 15 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 423 people, about 47 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
