The 2011 census counted 1,616 people in Totianwala: 836 men and 780 women, living in 312 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household. Spread over its 432 hectares, the population density works out to about 374 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 933 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 225, about 14 per cent of the village.
