Where is Dehra?

Dehra is a village in Hoshiarpur tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Hariana, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bhunga community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031368, and it covers 153 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 253 people in Dehra: 123 men and 130 women, living in 57 households, an average of about 4.4 people per household. Spread over its 153 hectares, the population density works out to about 165 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1057 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 22, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 200 people, about 79 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
