Where is Patial?

Patial is a village of Mukerian tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hazipur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031119, and it covers 74 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 560 people in Patial: 279 men and 281 women, living in 116 households, an average of about 4.8 people per household. Spread over its 74 hectares, the population density works out to about 757 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1007 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 72, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 76 people, about 14 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
