Gahlarian is a village of Mukerian tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hazipur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031121, and it covers 212 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 953 people in Gahlarian: 477 men and 476 women, living in 212 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 212 hectares, the population density works out to about 450 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 998 women for every 1,000 men.
