Where is Kat Palon?

Kat Palon is a village of Phillaur tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Phillaur, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Phillaur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030132, and it covers 266 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,665 people in Kat Palon: 843 men and 822 women, living in 333 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 266 hectares, the population density works out to about 626 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 975 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 203, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,460 people, about 88 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
