Where is Shadipur?

Shadipur is a village of Phillaur tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Nurmahal, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Nurmahal community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030057, and it covers 256 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 870 people in Shadipur: 437 men and 433 women, living in 188 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 256 hectares, the population density works out to about 340 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 991 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 101, about 12 per cent of the village.
