Where is Adam Barwan?

Adam Barwan is a village in Pathankot tehsil of Pathankot district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Pathankot, about 24 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Narot Jaimal Singh community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027712, and it covers 163 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 515 people in Adam Barwan: 267 men and 248 women, living in 104 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 163 hectares, the population density works out to about 316 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 929 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 64, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 367 people, about 71 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
