Where is Mandi?

Mandi is a village of Dera Bassi tehsil in SAS Nagar district, Punjab, in the Puadh region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dera Bassi, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dera Bassi community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039252, and it covers 172 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 603 people in Mandi: 318 men and 285 women, living in 108 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household. Spread over its 172 hectares, the population density works out to about 351 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 896 women for every 1,000 men.
