More than four years after he was gunned down, Sidhu Moosewala returns to the stage tonight as a hologram. The "Signed to God World Tour" opens on Friday, October 9, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, making him the first Indian artiste to have a hologram-based world tour, according to The Tribune.
What happens at the Toronto opener?
The show is listed for 8 PM local time at Scotiabank Arena. It was first announced for October 8, but the venue and the official tour listing now show October 9. His father, Balkaur Singh, has said the video of the hit track "295" will be released during the inaugural show. The team had asked fans worldwide to send tribute clips or videos of themselves singing "295", and selected clips will be woven into the video.
How will the hologram work?
The tour recreates Moosewala's stage presence with holographic technology, using his original vocals, cinematic visuals and stage effects. His hologram performance is expected to run for around 20 to 25 minutes of a show of nearly 100 minutes, and some singers who collaborated with him are expected to perform. Balkaur Singh, his wife and younger son Shubhdeep Singh, known as "Nikka Sidhu", will attend the shows.
Where does the tour go next?
Balkaur Singh has said the first phase will have 10 shows. Venue listings show Vancouver's Rogers Arena on October 15 and Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome on October 19. Moosewala was shot dead at Jawaharke village in Mansa on May 29, 2022. His family and team have kept releasing music he recorded before his death; his 13th posthumous song, "Ghostface Killah", came out last month. "295" has become the most-liked Punjabi song on YouTube, with over 12.8 million likes, per the report.
When does Moosewala's hologram tour begin?
It begins on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, at 8 PM local time.
How long is the hologram performance?
Reports say the hologram segment is expected to run about 20 to 25 minutes of a show lasting nearly 100 minutes.
Will the tour come to India?
India is on the list of countries the tour is expected to cover, but the first phase of 10 shows has no India date announced in the reports we checked.
