Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force, in a joint operation with the Commissionerate Police Ludhiana, arrested two associates of a gangster network and recovered a Glock 9mm pistol with 20 live cartridges. Police say the duo was in contact with foreign-based handlers and had been tasked with carrying out a firing in the Chandigarh–Mohali area for extortion, a plot their timely arrest prevented.ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਐਂਟੀ-ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਟਾਸਕ ਫੋਰਸ ਨੇ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੇਟ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਆਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਗਲੌਕ 9mm ਪਿਸਤੌਲ ਅਤੇ 20 ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਤੂਸ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੇ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੈਂਡਲਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ-ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰੌਤੀ ਲਈ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਜ਼ਿਸ਼ ਰਚੀ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਕਾਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
