Harmanpreet Kaur, the Punjab-born former India captain, smashed an unbeaten 91 off 41 balls as India beat Zimbabwe by 92 runs in the third Women's T20I in Raipur on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, to complete a 3-0 series sweep. India made 216 for 7 and bowled Zimbabwe out for 124 for 7.
A knock that turned the innings
Harmanpreet was 11 off 12 balls at one stage, Cricbuzz reported, before she took over. She hit ten fours and five sixes at a strike rate of about 222, raced past fifty in 25 balls, and shared an 84-run stand with Shafali Verma, who made a 37-ball 69, according to ESPNcricinfo and Sportstar. It was her second-highest T20I score. She was on 81 when the last over began but managed only 10 off it. India's 216 was their joint-third-highest T20I total.
Zimbabwe's chase falls short
Sharne Mayers made 60 off 49 balls for Zimbabwe, but the chase never got going. Nandani Sharma took 3 for 18 and Beloved Biza took 3 for 50 for the visitors, per the match report. Sportstar called it India's biggest T20I win at home, and The Times of India noted an 11-match winning streak in the format. Harmanpreet was Player of the Match and Shafali Verma was Player of the Series with 128 runs.
Why this one mattered to Harmanpreet
The innings came after a lean run for the 37-year-old, who stepped down as captain before this series, The Hindu reported. At the presentation she said she did not feel pressure any more and wanted to enjoy herself in the middle, and India Today described her as close to tears while crediting coach WV Raman for encouraging her to play her own way. The knock gives her confidence ahead of the inaugural ICC Women's Champions Trophy early next year.
