Where is Aulia?

Aulia is a village of Mukerian tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Mukerian community development block and is served by the Aulia-207 gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031065, and it covers 74 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 597 people in Aulia: 306 men and 291 women, living in 124 households, an average of about 4.8 people per household. Spread over its 74 hectares, the population density works out to about 807 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 951 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 58, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 96 people, about 16 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
