Where is Hardo Neknama?

Hardo Neknama is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 18 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and is served by the Hardo--Neknama gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031031, and it covers 650 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 787 people in Hardo Neknama: 391 men and 396 women, living in 168 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 650 hectares, the population density works out to about 121 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1013 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 79, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 289 people, about 37 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
