Where is Haler?

Haler is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 6 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031004, and it covers 153 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,018 people in Haler: 509 men and 509 women, living in 211 households, an average of about 4.8 people per household. Spread over its 153 hectares, the population density works out to about 665 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1000 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 123, about 12 per cent of the village.
