Where is Mokh?

Mokh is a village in Dasua tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Urmar Tanda, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bhunga community development block and is served by the Jhojhar--Chathial gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030941, and it covers 117 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 187 people in Mokh: 88 men and 99 women, living in 37 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 117 hectares, the population density works out to about 160 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1125 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 26, about 14 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 106 people, about 57 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
