Where is Parelian?

Parelian is a village in Mukerian tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hazipur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031111, and it covers 50 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 322 people in Parelian: 161 men and 161 women, living in 62 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household. Spread over its 50 hectares, the population density works out to about 644 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1000 women for every 1,000 men.
