Where is Simbli?

Simbli is a village of Mukerian tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Mukerian community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031164, and it covers 80 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 215 people in Simbli: 103 men and 112 women, living in 46 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 80 hectares, the population density works out to about 269 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1087 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 36, about 17 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 16 people, about 7 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
