Where is Siparian?

Siparian is a village in Mukerian tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hazipur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031103, and it covers 318 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,956 people in Siparian: 988 men and 968 women, living in 415 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 318 hectares, the population density works out to about 615 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 980 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 250, about 13 per cent of the village.
