Kotli is a village of Samana tehsil in Patiala district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Samana, about 8 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Samana community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 036185, and it covers 266 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 908 people in Kotli: 482 men and 426 women, living in 163 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household.
