India Issues Advisory for Nationals in Saudi Arabia After Houthi Airport Attacks

India on Thursday advised its citizens in Saudi Arabia to stay alert and vigilant and to remain indoors as necessary after Houthi attacks targeted Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, leaving three people dead and 36 injured.
What does the advisory say?
The Indian Embassy in Riyadh said all Indian nationals in the kingdom should “remain alert and vigilant, stay indoors as necessary, and follow the instructions issued by local authorities through official channels.” It also strongly advised citizens to refrain from circulating or reposting videos or news related to the ongoing events.
The embassy and the consulate in Jeddah, along with their VFS services, continue to function normally, and the 24x7 Pravasi Bharatiya Sahayata Kendra helpline remains available on toll-free number 8002471234. The Ministry of External Affairs separately condemned the attacks, saying the targeting of civilian infrastructure was “completely unacceptable,” and expressed condolences to the families of those killed.
How are flights affected?
More than 300 flights to and from Riyadh were cancelled globally following the attacks, according to flight trackers. Air India cancelled its flights to and from Saudi Arabia until October 10 and asked passengers to check flight status before travelling. The disruption follows an earlier scare in which an Air India Delhi-Riyadh flight turned back mid-air.
