Sangrur Crash: Rs 2 Lakh Aid, Villagers Allege Ambulance Delay

Eight workers killed when a speeding car ran into them on the Lehragaga-Jakhal road in Sangrur are now at the centre of a compensation and accountability push. A 10-member Insaaf Committee of the MGNREGA Workers Union and local activists has been formed to seek justice and fair compensation. Goyal said he ordered a departmental probe against officials for alleged dereliction of duty.

Police said about 25 workers were on the roadside near Alisher village on Sunday evening when the car, coming from the Jakhal side, hit a motorcycle and then the group.
