Singo Katrala is a village of Mukerian tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 6 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Mukerian community development block and is served by the Singo-Katrala gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031184, and it covers 129 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,120 people in Singo Katrala: 572 men and 548 women, living in 244 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 129 hectares, the population density works out to about 868 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 958 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 133, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 403 people, about 36 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 85.21 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 87.85 per cent and women at 82.47 per cent. The census recorded 302 workers, about 27 per cent of the village.
