Six states signed an MoU in June 2026 to push ahead with the 422 MW Kishau multipurpose dam on the Tons river. Punjab, left out of the pact, says it was not consulted and is preparing a Supreme Court challenge, citing its claim to Yamuna waters.ਜੂਨ 2026 'ਚ ਛੇ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਟੌਂਸ ਨਦੀ 'ਤੇ 422 ਮੈਗਾਵਾਟ ਦੇ ਕਿਸ਼ਾਊ ਬਹੁ-ਉਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਡੈਮ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਰੱਖੇ ਗਏ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਲਾਹ-ਮਸ਼ਵਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਯਮੁਨਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਅਵੇ ਦਾ ਹਵਾਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ 'ਚ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
